What gets announced, and what the official records show.
Many announcements from the Municipality of Atri (road closures, school suspensions, openings, new services)
are published on the mayor's Facebook profile. It is a fast channel, but it doesn't reach everyone:
people without Facebook, people who don't use it and many older residents may not find out in time.
Public information should reach every citizen in the same way.
This section is here to fill that gap. We report the announcements in plain language, with the date and a link
to the original, next to the official records we find in our
register, so you can see whether what was
announced is also in the Municipality's documents. We don't republish the posts, we summarise them. When we
can't find a record, we say it does not appear in the documents we consulted, not that it doesn't exist.
It is a free service, independent of the Municipality, supported by people from Atri and made for Atri.

New bus and car park on the site of the former Mambelli middle school
The announcement. The new car park for buses and cars on the former Mambelli middle school
site opens on Saturday 26 September at 11:00. According to the announcement, bus stops for secondary schools
move there from in front of the Carabinieri station and the Liceo, freeing the space now used by buses near
the hospital. 20 free parking spaces all year round, plus another 60 in summer when buses are not using the area.
In the records. The documents we consulted do not yet include a record naming a car park on
the former Mambelli middle school site, nor an order creating the 20 + 60 free spaces.
The Municipality has a project for
"reorganising parking areas and turning
them into intermodal interchange zones" worth €565,000.00, of which €131,903.40 comes from the Abruzzo Region;
but the records don't say where it is and state that works were completed on 30/12/2025, while the announcement
describes works finishing now. So we don't link it to this car park without confirmation.
To ask the Municipality: the record approving the project, its cost and the parking order.
Via Fonte Canale closed for slope stabilisation works
The announcement. From Tuesday 22 September, works begin to stabilise the slope and to channel
rainwater and runoff from the historic Fontana Canale. Via Fonte Canale is closed to cars in both directions between
the junction with via Papa Giovanni XXIII and the Crocifisso; residents may pass. Estimated duration about 40 days;
afterwards, if works are not finished, alternating one-way traffic may be introduced.
In the records.
- Order no. 2026/0001524 of 21/09/2026: no through traffic from
22 September in both directions, residents allowed. The order says "until the end of the works" and does not
state the 40 days mentioned in the announcement.
- Decision no. 2026/0001473: describes the works (a pile-supported
retaining wall and drainage of the Canale fountain) and amends the contract for safety coordination.
Giro d'Abruzzo on 18 September: roads closed and schools suspended
The announcement. On Friday 18 September stage 4 of the Giro d'Abruzzo cycling race passes through:
the S.S. 553 is closed from the Silvi boundary to the Notaresco boundary, roughly from 10:15 to 12:00. Lessons are
suspended in all schools in Atri town and Fontanelle, except the nursery in via D'Annunzio. The announcement says
"a mayoral order will follow".

- Mayoral order no. 2026/0001481 of 14/09/2026: lessons suspended as
announced. This is the promised order, issued the same day.
- Order no. 2026/0001454: the Municipal Civil Protection Operations
Centre was activated for the day at the Prefecture's request; the text states there is no emergency.
Order no. 2026/0001518: the Centre was then closed.
- The records don't state a cost for the staff and vehicles involved.
The new Mambelli Barnabei middle school opens
The announcement. Opening of the new middle school on Saturday 12 September at 12:00, in viale
Umberto I, described as "a modern, safe and eco-sustainable building".
